Last two nights of River of Lights

The Aquarium opened the year we moved back to Albuquerque. It was such a treat to take my 18 month old daughter to the café and get to sit down for 15 minutes while she ate and watched the fish. When they first opened the café had mac and cheese, beans and rice and some other pre-school favorites.

When our twins were born a few years later I would take all 3 kids and we would circle the jellyfish tank. The babies would fall asleep and I would sit and watch the shark tank while they slept.

My Car Smells Great

Much of my adult life has been spent contemplating urban vs. rural living options. I kind of want a farm on bus line within walking distance of places to eat and shop. And yes, I know it does not work that way, at least on large scale.

Today my lunch hour errand was a trip to the feed store. South Valley Mercantile is a 10 minute drive from my office downtown. So I left at lunch, drove down Broadway, turned on to Rio Bravo and there I was. I needed a bale of straw and bale grass hay for our rab… Continue

The Ballad of El Desnudeo

This morning's NY times magazine has a series of portraits of people who will be important in the Obama aministration. They are just people up against a white background, very stark, oddly posed. My son was looking at them and asking questions about the people. This gave way to to speculation about who would good and who be evil if they were in a sci-fi movie.
It reminded of me of an idea we had. Maybe this was in my head because Fac… Continue

yes and yes! I'm very excited! The Museum was good for me, but it was time to move along, and NDI is pretty darn awesome! I've been so busy that I haven't seen any of my beloved DCF friends in a LONG time! I miss you! How's the family??

There's a baby octopus? And they have cuttlefish again? I'm so there!
And I thought of YOU the other day, writing to a certain Ms. Nason in the planning department, noodling for info on a registered place that was the Fez Club back in the day. (She forwarded me, and I got some leads from Ed...someone.)

It's finally truly summer, don'tcha think?

hey! they are asking for any donation that you feel is possible, but it is not strictly for people who want to donate. It is also an info event to learn more about what they are doing and why. also, a place for people who grow food from all over to get together and share their experiences.
last year they had a table with handmade crafts, jewelry, and jamaica tea.
it was so fun! i hope you come!

Thank you, Mombat for keeping in touch. It was just Dolores and I and we had a great time talking and discussing our ongoing projects. When you can come, bring some of the things you're working on or plan to work on. Every crocheter has baskets of yarn with wishes on them, don't they?

Hey, Mombat, the crocheters are trying to come up with a time to meet. We've fixed our first meet at dolores' on Wednesday. I hope you will come.

Hey! We ended up going out for lunch with Heather's mom and then ran out of time before the customary Sunday-afternoon errands. Sorry we missed it, and thanks for the tickets!
