Everyone is welcome at the Westside Drum Circle (novice through expert). Bear in mind this is not a performance but rather a chance to get together with others and express what is 'hiding' inside of you in the form of rhythm. I have never been put down or intimidated by a 'better' drummer at a drum circle. However, I have come across a few 'control freak' so-called 'professional' drum circle facilitators who get upset if you don't march exactly to their orders. Our group does not tolerate behavior like that. We are 'lightly facilitated', meaning pretty much that anything goes.

I am quite certain, no, absolutely certain that you will be welcome at the Westside Drum Circle. I've never been to that one, and I will be out of town this week; but I'll be picking up on that circle when we get back. We live on the westside, too, and I am very new to drumming like you. But every time I've sat in on a drum group it has been great. Hope to see you there. Ken.
