Pixies with Best Coast at Kiva Auditorium

February 25, 2014 from 7:30pm to 10:30pm
The Boston-formed Pixies have been acclaimed as the most influential pioneering band of the late 80s alt/rock movement. Their five studio releases and initial six years together effectively blazed the path for groups like Nirvana, Radiohead and Pearl Jam to rise to superstardom. After reuniting in 2004, the band has been playing sold-out shows all over the world. For this tour, the band is promising the most wide-ranging concert set-lists of Pixies music in their career, including songs never…See More

Laughing Gulls??

I've been photographing wildlife in the Middle Rio Grande Valley for over 20 years and this was a "first"I thought I'd share. This ranks right up with my discovery (~7 yrs ago) of a nesting pair of Mississippi Kites in Peralta. There are several more now, located in primarily in Bosque Farms....but I digress.Recently flooded pastures provided many ops for Cattle Egrets and great breeding plumage BUT along withabout 50 of them appeared 6 Laughing Gulls (2 pair and 2 juvies) Never seen one, let…See More
