"Actually there are ~200 of them (few weeks early) They roost on the Isleta sandbars, so that's what you're seeing in the evening. The process is reversed every morning at sunrise when they fly down to Bosque Farms/Peralta to feed.…"

Pixies with Best Coast at Kiva Auditorium

February 25, 2014 from 7:30pm to 10:30pm

Laughing Gulls??

I've been photographing wildlife in the Middle Rio Grande Valley for over 20 years and this was a "first"I thought I'd share. This ranks right up with my discovery (~7 yrs ago) of a nesting pair of Mississippi Kites in Peralta. There are several more now, located in primarily in Bosque Farms....but I digress.Recently flooded pastures provided many ops for Cattle Egrets and great breeding plumage BUT along withabout 50 of them appeared 6 Laughing Gulls (2 pair and 2 juvies) Never seen one, let…See More

"Osprey can be found South of Isleta on the Rio Grande. There are several nesting pair (5) up at Tetilla Peak (N end of Cochiti) but for the motherload of up to 15 nesting pair one only has to go to Chama (Heron Lake) where I've photographed 40…"
