I started my Two a Day
project on June 5 so it hasn't been quite two months. I've crossed a lot of items off of my To Do List in that time and I don't think I would have accomplished so much if I didn't have the structure and support of this blog and its commenters to keep me motivated.
This sounds like a farewell post and it is, sort of. I have a new job… Continue

Oh, where do I begin to tell the story of my adventure? Of course the beginning. Last night my husband and I and a close friend attended the concert of Blondie and Pat Benatar at the Isleta Casino's Lake outdoor venue. We arrived at the Casino's main parking lot at 6:15 and proceeded to have our own little pre-concert tailgate party. We stood around talking, laughing, eating, drinking, and enjoying each other’s company as we watched the people filing toward the entrance of the casino, queuing… Continue

Prior to the launch of our blog, Richard penned this editorial that appeared in the Albuquerque Journal
Please read, because our City’s declining fiscal health is a very important issue in this election. We cannot allow for continued mismanagement of our city finances, and Richard has both identified the problem and offered a solution. We owe it to our future… Continue

In a Channel 4 News report "Candidates Spar Over Term Limits
," Richard again reaffirmed his belief that entrenched encumbancy leads to entrenched corruption. As a reminder, Richard put term limits on his own leadership position while serving in the NM State Senate and as Mayor he has vowed to work with Albuquerque's delegation at the Legislature to put forth a constitutional amendment so voters can put the… Continue

I like to support independent, New Mexico businesses. I also like to shop online. Antithetical? Can I get the convenience of shopping onlilne for my sister's birthday present and having it shipped directly to her in Chicago, but buy from a New Mexico business? Any suggestions?

Edith Grove's post about hiking in the Pecos
brought back a rush of memories about that fabulous place. And why not? The Pecos Wilderness has to be the crown jewel of all the New Mexico high country. And it just might be the absolute best of anything that our state has to offer.
Do you know these names? Hamilton Mesa, Rio Valdez, Mora Flats, Beatty's… Continue

I have been on a bit of a break from writing on the Fix, but not from reading it. It's not that I have suddenly become shy, but rather that I have taken a try at blogging out in the big ole cyberworld, trying to help the turistas as well as my web site traffic by blogging about things to do in Albuquerque. It has paid off in many ways.
First of all, it seems I really like writing about Albuquerque. I am proud to be a Burqueña and I love… Continue
