Donate Your Bones

My classes with the Citizen Police Academy (APD) continue to provide a unique look at our unique city...

We went on a lovely field trip this past Sunday afternoon to the Office of the Medical Investigator. Yes, there are a number of those coolers with bodies in bags like you might see on teevee (minus the smell). More About Politics than Public Safety

ABQ. CPA:Citizen's Police Academy (APD)

I am in my third week of the Albuquerque Police Departments' CPA program, the 35th CPA class offered. It is a 12 week course (classes meet twice a week with optional weekend field trips) of fairly amazing adventures offered for free to Albuquerque residents by the Albuquerque Police Department. I am wondering if any of you DCF readers have been a participant?

Friday the 13th, Fetish Party, Police, and the Alibi

On Friday the 13th Black Market Goods hosted a private party for a local fetish club. As we are an art space dedicated to all forms of expression (so long as they are legal) we hosted this without hesitation. That night two Black Market Goods members stayed on site to watch the facilities and ensure that party was safe, legitimate, and legal. Massive Downtown Drug Bust

The Abq.Journal has posted this video of this weekend's massive drug bust at a downtown bar.

Speakin' of our local paper, their new feature called UPFRONT which started today (Sunday, 8/10/08) seems to be trying to do a hard copy DUKE CITY FIX sort of thing...Reporters will have daily columns on life in the Duke City.
