I'm so excited to be featuring my first Podcast today! I had so much fun interviewing Albuquerque couture bridal designer, Teresa Romero. After having been sick and on bed rest, the first thing I did when I got my voice back was interview Teresa. This is one of my favorite posts yet and I am so happy to be helping to promote some of Albuquerque's finest talent! Check it out: …
I just posted a New York Times article on Facebook that described the use of iPads in the classroom. What a great idea! Only problem is that there aren't enough APPS for them yet. But wait! Soon there will be numerous learning APPS for iPads for children and adults.
Think about the way this could revolutionize learning worldwide! All we would have to do is force the price of the device down to affordable levels by buying mass quantities. Think about the ways this could continue to…
to my About Me section because it summarizes my experience as a College Counselor while I worked at South Valley Academy. It was galvanizing. It brought me closer to an understanding of myself, my culture and our society, and drove home points that are easy to side glance and never truly address.
I suffer from it. I intend to go, do, participate, and at the moment of action, I've forgotten. Well, I forget some of the times. Other times I use "OH NO! I forgot all about it!" to mask some other reason, usually some kind of misfit feeling that discourages from being around other people. No offense, strangers, but sometimes you just don't cut it, not even for this party-lovin' señorita.
As it turns out, I find that I'm not the only one who occasionally *wants* to do something but… Continue
This weekend kicks off my summer event adventures. The Alibi's weekly newsletter, delivered directly to my inbox, has been teeming with great ideas on things to check out. This weekend I don't want to miss one of the showings of 200 Motels at The Guild or Jan MacKell's talk at Bookworks about the wild women of the wild west. It's one of my favorite topics.
For more details, check it out.
Other possible adventures include:
- day trip to Madrid,… Continue
The saturation of the social media experience on the Internet has caused me to unplug for a while. I was feeling too connected, too observed, too scrutinized for the benefit of the companies that would like me to spend my money on their stuff.
However, I love Duke City Fix, and am glad that Leif found me and added me as a friend. it prompted me to log in and reconsider this as one of my most basic sources of information and events relevant to me. i will try to be more conscientious to keep… Continue
I am less than 4 weeks from my "due date" and since last September I have been keeping a blog. This week I posted an update on my last minute remodel to our Master Bathroom. Nothing like a contractor to decide that it's a good idea to start a remodel in her 8th month of pregnancy. What can I say, maybe the chemicals got to my brain after all these years.
Anyway, this week on my blog I decided to post a slew of designer/contractor tips… Continue

So I started the Frisbee Lovin Fixers group with full intent of getting out there on Sunday afternoons to play some Frisbee. Well, I didn't get out of the house to do any such thing yesterday. I do intend to making it a habit though, so let's try it again. I'm feeling so much pressure about time lately, but I know the only way to keep a sane grasp on reality is to get out there and work some of that stress off. Investing the hour or two will definitely help in the long run. So, let's give it a… Continue
The City of Albuquerque has had a recycling program in place for a number of years now. Ever recycled? Maybe today is a good day to start. Check it out.
This would be my fourth or fifth blog space if I chose to upkeep it. The likelihood is low, since on top of blogging I raise a child, work 2 jobs, and am a full-time grad student. So, at the risk of being an annoying self-promoter (no one cares more about you than you, so promote yourself!), I will point you in the direction of my most recent and most serious blogging effort: http://senoritaruth.com. I have very exciting ideas and topics planned, so add it to your RSS feeder and check in… Continue
