What a treat for the public to go inside the barbed wire gates of the Albuquerque Rail Yards (12/1/12). I have so often watched activities there from outside the chain link fences. Our home in South Broadway is so nearby, that we can hear movie directors shouting out their orders to actors and crew. It will be exciting to watch the changes planned for the site coming in the next decade.
A huge swath of smoke is visible to Albuquerque residents this afternoon after a large wildfire in the Northern end of Corrales was reported at 3:30 p.m. The fire is now burning on both sides of the Rio Grande River. The wind is expanding the fire toward the Sandia Pueblo range lands however there are structures in the surrounding area on the other side of the river. No homes are currently 'evacuating'. BunnytownUSA (in Albuquerque's South Broadway 'hood) gets a new re-cycling cart in March...Whoo Hoo!
Albuquerque will soon expnad their collectible container program at streetside. Our city has been woefully behind in this endeavor nationally...But finally, Big Blue Containers here we come...Some areas will be expanding with this program in March...Others not until end of 2012...

Where are/were you today? Out camping, snow skiing, buying mattresses, or werer you at the Pandemonious Pit where the UNM NM Lobos tarred and feathered the Number 11 team in the nation on Nationally televised CBS Sports in HD?…ABQ and The Pit have not looked this great on decades…Go Lobos.

The UNM Lobo Men's basketball team has won its 13th game in a row ; its first conference game...They beat Wyoming (72-62) who until today was undefeated at home in Laramie. A tough game won handily by the Lobos...They are a remarkably well-rounded team this year. Question is When not if when it comes to the Lobos breaking into the NCAA top 25 teams.

Looking like the full moon nesting in the bare trees of South Broadway, an eerie light shown. That bright light visible over the Downtown area was in a huge box of lights set on a gantry crane over the downtown railroad yards.
