Mom: "Honey, see all those pictures? Those are the presidents of the United States. Do you notice anything about them?
Young son: "No, mommy, what should I notice?"
Mom: "They all look the same."
Son: "Oh... Mommy, when is Obama going to be up there with those guys?"
Mom: "Well honey, he's not the president yet, but he will be soon."

I
often listen to audiobooks to shorten some of those long New Mexico drives. While I was complaining about the excessive expense of an audiobook vs. a book-book, someone mentioned to me that I should check out the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Public Library System where they RENT AUDIOBOOKS. FOR FREE.
What is this library you speak of with FREE BOOKS? There are… Continue

The New Mexico float entry in the 2008 Tournament of Roses parade has won the coveted Grand Marshal's trophy for excellence in creative concept and design, one of the top three float awards given every year. This year's Grand Marshal was Emeril Lagasse, but it's unclear if he had anything to do with the… Continue

I love my Maryland hometown and am always excited to visit. And as I begin my trip to any of this country's fabulous eastern cities, I always am struck by a slight sense of envy that those places have so many things that Albuquerque lacks.
- widespread public transportation
- big, wide glorious rivers
- tons of people
- tons of food
- rockin' new years eve parties at the
Museum of… Continue

It's 54 degrees in practically balmy Philadelphia. WTF. God I love this city. And now I'm on my way to Sephora - nyah, nyah.
Made it out of Chicago yesterday by the skin of my teeth - total winter chaos, makes me appreciate New Mexico even more. However, I'm spending New Year's Eve in Baltimore, one of my favorite cities. Then I'm watching the New Mexico float in the Rose Parade before I watch USC kick ass at the…

This is just horrifying ... and amusing ... and horrifying.
And what this has to do with Office Max, I have no idea.
Steve, Marci - it's questionable whether I should thank you for turning me onto this.

I took a quick jaunt out of the Duke City today to go down to Roswell. And what did I hit from Tramway to VAUGHN? Fog and lots of it. Fog the thickness of my favorite green chile stew.
The trucks hauling silently by were mere wisps of their usual macho selves. WTF? Fog? All the way to Vaughn? It's criminal I tell you. Who do I talk to about this?

Who wants a killer Nob Hill Gift Basket? It's full of a sorts of cool stuff from the Nob Hill Business Association. All packaged up in a cute sleigh basket. You could give it away, but I'd recommend just keeping it for yourself.
After all, don't you deserve a gift basket this holiday season? I think so.
To get the basket, all you have to do is comment on why you love shopping, dining and wandering in our very own Nob Hill. The best answer will be picked by an esteemed panel…

My new car is in my hands. I wound up buying, because I finally decided if I'm going to shell out that much cash, I'm damned sure I'm going to have an asset at the end of all this, depreciated or otherwise.
I had a great experience buying and love my new Subaru.
Now excuse me while I go inhale the refreshing aroma of new car.

It's time to purchase a new car. And yes, I do mean NEW.
Before everyone jumps on me about the dreaded "depreciation" let me be clear that I don't care. I understand the concept and it's implication. But the tempting aroma of new car smell is just too much for me.
Plus, I like knowing my car's history and I keep my cars long enough that the depreciation becomes less of an issue.
I am, however, debating the merits leasing vs. buying. Here's a good article about this…

What's with this new Express Jet - www.xjet.com . They serve food, they have assigned seats and they have a direct flight to Ontario, CA - which only take 1.5 hours. I just flew on it and would choose it over the nightmare that is LAX any day. Planes are a little small though, it would be cramped for someone over 6 ft. tall, but that's not really any issue for me.…
