Baby showers just aren't what they used to be.
The film industry likes us. It really, really likes us.
They're not going to like us as much if we turn into a dry well.
Tucson seems to have ABQ envy.
I think we all "learned a great deal" about Councilman Harris. Mostly that he's not above behaving like an ass.
Ghosts dig the pool at UNM. Maybe they're after-life guards.

People who get arrested a lot. Or who hang out with people who get arrested a lot. Here's another thing I like about the story:
There was no knife pulled," Alderete said. "He didn't know I had a knife until he searched me.”
Alderete said he had the knife because he was using it to carve the pig cooked for the matanza.

Okay, so you're carving up a pig you've just roasted...but when you're done, you conceal the knife on yourself. Who does THAT?

In other news, Carlos Fierro gets 6 years for killing a guy while DWI but a guy who embezzles money from an Indian casino gets 50? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

I do believe 6 years is the maximum sentence for vehicular homicide. Remember...it was the pedestrian's fault! But, consider this: if Fierro hadn't been drunk it's most likely he wouldn't have been charged at all and would be free as a bird.

Comment by shotsie on October 29, 2009 at 4:56pm: Why would a rich suburb like Oro Valley (just north of Tucson) be jealous of how friendly we our with our tax incentives, when that city has given 4 major developers half of the sales tax for their strip shopping malls? Maybe they're jealous that we gave 70% of the sales tax revenue to WinRock.... (at least we're getting some apartments and an IMAX for our money...)
