What's going on, Albuquerque?
Gertrude Zachary completed her homage to lavish French architecture in 2008 on the unlikely corner of 2nd & Lead downtown.
Can you say conspicuous consumption ? Yes you can heeh
I like her back gate that leads to the El Madrid parking lot. Now that's convenient.
It is an odd spot. Imagine the heating bill!
Quite a house. I have to confess I am already starting to wonder what will be done with this place post-Zachary...no doubt she has some tribute to her legacy in mind already.
It would make a nice museum. Or a club! The photos of the inside I've seen are quite dramatic. D
Yeah - it's quite something inside. Doug, that corner of Barelas has has its issues and certainly wouldn't be most people's choice for locating a million-dollar home, but I wouldn't say it's quite as bad as all that.
I've photographed quite a bit in the area. It's a strange spot for a home but not for a business or industry. In the meantime, let's hope she lives a long time. Hey, someone could have mentioned I had an extra 'e' in Queen!
I would have put Dairy in front if I thought of it! No, no castle storming for me today. I have a fear of moats...
Post up those photo's of the interior Dee...
Hooked on Houses has some pics of Gertrude and the interior. D
