I don't know what happened last night, but it seems that "roach coaches" are way more sanitary than some restaurants! And yay for shopping local!

Comment by Granjero on November 20, 2012 at 10:21am I met Hillary Smith years ago when she worked as a temporary worship director at our small church. Such a nice and humble person. God just doesn't make voices any better than hers.
Also, I think businesses in Nob Hill need to learn to compete. If they're worried about food trucks, then maybe they just need to step it up a bit. Perhaps start sending out food truck s of their own... just saying..
Comment by once banned twice shy on November 20, 2012 at 10:30am Incredible that the Nob Hill Neighborhood Association wants to get rid of food trucks. Completely stupid. Hello! Shop owners? Food trucks attract FOOT TRAFFIC. Which just might pop into your store to buy something. As for the restaurant owners, I agree with Granjero (no, the world won't stop spinning)--they should step it up. Give people a reason to bypass the food truck and go into your restaurant.
But...here is my grand idea: the city should create food truck parks, a la Portland, on the vacant lots created by all those torn down hotels on Central between Carlisle and San Mateo. Put in water and power hookups and encourage those food trucks to park it there. Would have the added benefit of making the neighborhood a destination...

I've had the same thought re: food trucks, OBTS. The vacant lot where the Aztec Lodge once stood would be a great Nob Hill location for a food truck pod and I bet it still has utility hookups. Maybe they could even turn the neon back on to advertise it.
Comment by Granjero on November 20, 2012 at 11:20am On Jefferson near the Journal and across from the Wells Fargo, you can find 6 or 7 food trucks there on any given day. or at least you could when I used to work in the area...
Comment by Izquierdo on November 20, 2012 at 1:30pm Pittsburgher says Albuquerque has potential?. Reminds me of when the movie Pretty Woman hooker told her housemate hooker friend, "You got a lot of potential, kid."
