"a kind of generous hedonism... encoded in the physical geography and landscape, the culture and food and people of this city. THIS is the city you came to visit."

OMG, I'm going to marry that weirdo.

Now I'm convinced it's some kind of underground marketing effort by ACVB.

I'm digging the chalice necklace (is that a chalice necklace? I think it's a chalice necklace.)

Love the enthusiasm! A little Google work finds the name Samuel Taylor and leads to his site. He is a very talented and busy young man who has moved away to follow his dreams, but still has lots of love for Albuquerque. (I suggest you type "Albuquerque" into the search box on his site.) I've only had time to skim the surface, but I'm already hoping he finds his way back some day to add his talents to the city's riches!

Nice work!

He's got some lovely pictures of the railyards -- "what can only be described as one of the world’s most beautiful places" -- on his Flickr page.

"Katy and Kelley came to visit, friends from college. It was incredible, and the word of the day: l’chaim! Katy sort of saved my sanity last summer, and I was glad to get to show them around the town I’ve been talking such big game about for so long now."

A quote from his blog:

'We live in a broken world, and if we are to make meaningful art, it must be broken, too, because how a thing is constructed says as much about the world as what it says.'

I'm not surprised he finds the rail yard beautiful-I have to say I agree. What a groovy guy.

ImaginarySamuel responds!

I emailed him today to say we'd been writing about his video and he mailed me back saying this:

"That is so funny. I youtubed that thing in order to slip it into a blog post of mine (http://freight.wordpress.com/2008/03/29/308/). Perhaps someday an essay on the metaphysical meaning of Albuquerque will come forth, but in some ways I hate to pin it down in writing. But everybody from there seems to know what I'm talking about.

Anyhow. I'm glad you found me. I guess I am a weirdo; I'm unapologetically fanatical about life. Blame the chile."

Love right back at 'ya, ImaginarySamual.
