What's going on, Albuquerque?
On Central in Nob Hill.
Lots of fun memories of the Lobo Theater from back in the day. Lots of high school shenanigans up in the balcony! Wish it was still a theater!
Didn't even know there was a balcony! Must have been fun back then...
Me too, Lita! I fantasize about the folks who run the Guild taking over the Lobo...they could close in the balcony, make it a smaller theater, and play twice the movies, with longer runs for each.
The Lobo was a big part of the Nob Hill scene until the early 2000s at least...its conversion to an evangelical church has kind of taken it out of the local mix, though.
Nice neon sign. If they were showing "Elmer Gantry" I might drop by to see Burt Lancaster and Shirley Jones strut their stuff.
