Mornin Fix: I Can't Write Left-Handed

  • The city council voted 8-0 in favor of a memorial supporting the mandatory labeling of all genetically engineered foods.
  • Democratic gub candidates offer solutions to lottery scholarship problem.
  • Have you seen this beauty around?  Hopefully it will be found soon.
  • Does your zip code pay?  I'm a bit surprised that I live in one of the higher payroll zip codes.
  • Chef turns is home into intimate gourmet eatery.

With so many important issues facing Burque (economy, schools, APD) it's a real shame the council is wasting time on nonsense like a mandatory labeling memorandum for "genetically engineered" foods. But it probably made someone happy somewhere.

87109 has the highest payroll. Must be why folks don't want the Paseo interchange. That seems to be the mentality around here.

I didn't see any real suggestions concerning solving the lottery scholarship program.  My suggestion - turn it into a loan program for tuition at public schools, and then forgive a portion of the loan (say, one fourth) per year of NM residency after graduation.  Otherwise, if the student leaves the state to work elsewhere, he/she gets to pay back the loan over a ten year period of time.  Most students leave the state after graduation - it's a sad fact about our economy, but why should we subsidize a brain drain to benefit other states?

Beautiful truck - though I wouldn't doubt some hotel employee is behind this...
