The New Mexico Veterans' Memorial, Museum, & Conference Center

I thought Memorial Day would be the perfect day to remind folks that Albuquerque has a Veterans' Memorial and Museum. The Visitors' Center and Museum are open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 9am-3pm and admission is free. If the thought of dragging your BBQ bloated carcass off to a museum is too much to bear today, don't worry, McCain is speaking there now and the crowds are reportedly tremendous. Maybe just bookmark it in your brain as something to check out sometime soon.

If you're interested in some relevant Memorial Day links, here is the New Mexico Department of Veterans Services' Memorial Day 2008: New Mexico's Fallen Heroes Poster on the Albuquerque Journal's website. And here is a look at New Mexico military history during the Colonial Period, the Territorial Period, World War I, World War II, and the Korean War.

Spring, this is a fascinating museum and memorial. I took some pictures there a few years ago but I think that in order to fully appreciate it, it must be seen in person.

Thank you for sharing those beautiful photos, Fenton. They're just more motivation to go check it out.
