Congrats to fellow DCF'er Jeremy Jojola for kicking ass in the NMBA awards!!!
Best News Reporter, Best Feature Story, and tied for Best Investigative Story (KRQE submitted several Barker Stories, none could finish ahead of Jeremy)!

"Chavez said the bridge will "encourage people to get out of their cars" and enjoy the view."

...on the bridge? Is that safe?

If Mayor Chávez really wanted people to get out of their cars, I hope he considers raising similar sums for the only-half-funded multi-use bridge over the river at I-40.

Seriously, this bridge will be eye candy all on its own merit (the schematic design shows some lovely bow trusses) and will provide a much-needed connection over the river for cyclists, pedestrians, etc.

In that case, sounds great. Getting across on a bike in that neck of the woods can be a little hairy.
