Come challenge everyone to match your
Guitar Hero and
Quake skills on big screens at the
Albuquerque Hyatt Downtown Grand Ballroom on Friday, August 1st from 2pm - 6pm, and be the first to learn about and register for the
Duke City Shootout's digital media competition Massive Cinema.
Massive Cinema is a competition encompassing all forms of digital media production, designed for aspiring filmmakers of all ages and skill levels who may lack the resources or knowledge to bring a film to fruition but demonstrate potential talent. Massive Cinema's philosophy is that the best way to learn the trade is through immersion in the field under real-world pressure to complete a task in a challenging and fun environment.
The initial Massive Cinema entries will begin August 1 and will be a month in duration, followed by monthly challenges. The competitions are always free to enter. Industry professionals will judge the submissions, and winners will be awarded continuing instruction and prizes, such as
Adobe software, up to $15,000 in Intel prizes, movie tickets, and restaurant gift certificates. Prizes will be awarded all year in conjunction with the monthly challenges.
Massive Cinema is co-sponsored by
Intel,
Albuquerque Studios, Digital Film Institute,
American Film Institute, and
uPublic.
