I am a... how do you say... Pug Pusher.

I volunteer locally with New Mexico Pug Resuce, and when I catch word of pugs in need of homes - the inner pug pusher in me comes out! Currently this local non-profit group has three more adoptable pugs. All three are 2-3 year old black pugs, two boys and one girl. I hear the boy and girl have grown very attached and adoption of both to one home is preferable.

Also, although several months out, please mark your calendars for Saturday, 10/18/08. NM Pug Rescue will hold its annual Pugtoberfest event at Bow Wow Blues! Please see event I posted for more information.

Viva la pugs!

Haven't heard of 'Running of the Pugs' but would love to hear more! This event is essentially a pug party with contests, events, a silent auction, etc. At the Spring Pugnic, we had around 60-70 pugs in attendance (it was hysterical!). :-)

Something happens to pugs en masse. They seem to relate to other pugs differently than they do to other breeds.

Still figuring out how one could do a "running of the pugs." I bet it would be that tuck-their-ass-under and run kind of thing.

Ah, yes. There is nothing quite like the wild terror in a Pug's eyes as he "derbies" around a yard or house...tail straight, tongue hanging out, but tucked under. Comical little beasts. They truly do relate to other Pugs differently than they do other breeds. It's like they know their own kind.

My husband and I recently found a little abandoned black Pug in our neighborhood and couldn't resist saving him. We posted signs but with no response so we are pretty sure he was dumped. No chip, collar, nothing. Since we already have three dogs of our, one of those being a Pug, and his sister has been wanting a black Pug to play with her two fawn ones, she quickly snatched him up and he is living the high life. I'm trying to get her to bring him to Pugtober Fest this year.

That makes me angry. Short-nosed dogs can't handle our heat for too long...especially the black ones.

It made us very angry as well. I'm glad my husband saw him and had me go get the little guy. He is such a good dog. If his sis hadn't taken him we would have kept him even though four dogs would have been a bit much. I'm just glad he stayed in the family and has a great home with other Pug buddies.

Yeah we already have four dogs, including our two "broken" pound dogs. The spaniel puppy I found a few weeks ago is a bit much for the house and yard. I'm hoping the little guy catches someone's fancy soon.

Well if I hear of anyone looking for a pup, I'll let you know.
