Sausage sausage sausage! We kicked off the Labor Day weekend around Martini World! with a small cookout. What began as fetching a sample of sausages from Joe S. Sausage was quickly dubbed "Sausage Fest 2008". My friends are meat eating animals of the most civilized kind. Most Fridays our close friends just end up here or there for a drink or two, maybe some dinner. This Friday we ended up at Team Martini Headquarters. Lucky people. All will taste my sausage.

I had made my way back down to Joe S. Sausage ("located @ the SE corner of RioGrande & Griegos, enter on Griegos, T-F 11-6, Sat 11-4, 6880445") for a few sacks of the artisanal sausage that is his art. We now bow our heads to you Joe S. Sausage. Your fan base just expanded by a dozen core members and anyone who will listen. Buy. Taste. Love.

So, my sacks were full. Overkill for a few friends, but better safe than sorry. Also, I get to keep some for later! My oh so delicious sausage variety included 6 flavors. He must have 20 altogether and it was a hard decision. Spicy Italian w. Green Chile! Brats, Peppercorn Irish Bangers, Garlic Habanero Hotlinks, North Valley Garlic Polish, and a Sweet Italian with vino were my choices this time. They were all great and no one could decide their favorite. However, they did all agree that my sausage was enormous.

Look like snakes! 1 sausage is 3 or 4 links... roughly a pound each.

Peppercorn Irish Banger for breakfast!

Too much sausage...

The scent of peppers and onions drifted behind the grilling sausage. The beer fridge was full, the weather was outstanding, and the bagpipes sang to the spirits... softly carried on the breeze of Ridgecrest. The necessary Martinis were shaken with love on a patio table. All my guests ate my sausage. All my guests came back for more. There are many pics I can not use here. Nitro Nate, Daredevil Derek, their ladies and clans are camera shy. But all were deeply satisfied, trust me.
Thank you Joe S. Sausage. Martini Mike Approved.

Fantastic pics, Mike! I need to get back to Joe's shop soon. I'm thinking one last summer hurrah down at the lake, grilling sausage over nice hot coals, some fine locally bottled brew...
