Ohh, something fun that Denver does that Albuquerque could do, too! Hear that library folks? Let's pick a book and create events, discussions, etc. around it as a way of building community and promoting literacy. If Denver can do it, we certainly can!

Not quite what I had in mind, plus that's a nationwide project started by the NEA. Not to say that's bad. I'm thrilled that the project exists.

The Denver program includes aperback copies of the book, as well as reading guides, are available at bookstores and the Denver Public Library, and events, readings, radio shows, movies, lectures and a writing contest. Plus local book stores are involved with events.

Did any of our bookstores do/are they doing anything with The Big Read? I only saw the library's information.
