Why did I just get a surprise check in the mail if the state has a budget shortfall? My first thought was that I'd just learned how much my vote was worth. Too cynical?

I-40 at san mateo handles 50,000 vehicles per day.
by comparison, the 10 freeway in LA was rebuilt in 66 days, after the 1994 northridge earthquake. oh, and the 10 freeway handles over 300,000 vehicles per day. granted, the 10 was shut-down during the rebuild, but nmdot is saying that rebuilding a freeway interchange while open takes six times longer????
how about an early completion bonus on a sliding scale????

Doug R re: housing shortage
I'd LOVE to get a nice deal on renting a house. I'm currently looking for something that's $700/month or less and would settle for a duplex/triplex/fourplex if necessary. I'm hoping that someone might be able to use me as a renter to help them keep their property through these tough economic times. (*fingers crossed*)
