An Open Letter on the Wisdom of Imprisoning Errant Shopping Carts

To the person at the Albuquerque Target on Eubank that didn't corral their shopping cart:

ARRRRRRRGH! In a city as windy as this one you couldn't be bothered to haul your cart five feet to its cozy little cart corral home? And instead you left it to its own devices? Of course, being the delinquent shopping card that it was, it made a beeline for the side of my car? And there I found it, bumped up against the side of my vehicle, proudly showing off the huge dent it so lovingly placed in my side panel.

Put your carts away, please. It's just common decency. And while you're at it, anyone know a good dent place?

Sincerely, Alexis

Oh, not putting carts away is one of my major pet peeves!! What is so difficult in putting a cart away? Quit being lazy people, and you know who you are!!!!

Tried one of those "buy it over the web" dent removal kits once. Didn't work worth a sh#$! So,...........not sure what to suggest besides a body shop for the dent.

And yes it is so ridiculous that people can't walk the cart over to the corral area.

I had a friend remark once that Albuquerque was the only place she had ever seen people actually return carts. She was from the east coast.

Same people who drive around the parking lot for 15 minutes to find a space close to the door. LAZY!!!

Dings everywhere (from other car doors), and the windshield, rock dings and a crack. Are cars made of aluminum foil these days? I gave up worrying about the dings but I always corral the cart. It's not that hard.

I remember once when I was in the Allwoods (remember them?) parking lot on Juan Tabo. One of those big flat cart things, like the ones that you put sheets of plywood, got away from its handler. It had an evap cooler on it and it raced down the parking lot and smacked someones truck leaving a large dent. I could never get those carts to roll in a straight line but dang if that cart didn't roll like it was on rails.

Cart "darts" is a favorite pastime of our gang, just establish a target vehicle (preferably a Lexus or Mercedes), and place your wager on who can impact the largest, most centrally located door ding.......great fun!!!
