Halloween Is Coming! Where Are YooooU Going?

Where can I meet your mask???

Halloween is a spooky night, but clubs usually cater to those who want to get into the various S.P.I.R.I.T.S of the evening. Have checked out links to likely spots in Albuquerque. You probably know of some great spots I've missed. You may know which ones offer spectacular contests, good music, entertainment that is above average, and so on.

For starters: Is anyone wearing a costume in 2008? What are you going as? Homemade? Store bought?

Where's the best contest? What casino is bringing 'em in? Here are some place I found. Is anyone planning to go there?

Without question, I'll be partaking in the annual Halloween Bike Ride that starts at Girard and Central at 7pm on The Big Day.

Now if I could only think of a costume...

Most bicyclists wear costumes every day (ie, spandex superhero :)

I'll be taking part in Trick or Vote for the first part of the night (http://trickorvote.org/) and then out into the crazy world after that. The costume is still up in the air for me as well.

Hey, Benny! Get some glow-in-the-dark paint. Paint a skeleton on your spandex. Get a skull that lights and wear wear it on the top of your head. That way, you won't obscure your vision while you bike, and you'll add a little height to your bare----bare----bones!

Juan! Your costume sounds like a challenge. Let us know what you decide.

Are there any GREAT contests that we all could compete in for Halloween?

There will definitely be a variety of contests going on at the Trick or Vote party at The Outpost Performance space. We'll have best political costume, best monster costume, best group or pair, etc...so stop by!

Has anyone ever heard of Masque Ball or a similar party where people where Venetian masks and accompanying costumes? It may seem strange, but I've always wanted to go to one--though I realize I may be a little late this year. Thanks!

It may be the Barkin' Ball in Santa Fe. It's a fundraiser for the Animal Humane Association. I think you're a week late. Sorry! Next year?

Costume isn't quite ready. Perhaps I can make it. If you happen to see a sprinkler hose, it will probably be me.
