Just a small selection of things that look interesting and may or may not involve jello shots. What are you doing?

Rivet Gang at the Albuquerque Press Club 201 Highland Park Cir SE 243-8476
Say hi to Jeremy Foote and celebrate a mellow New Year's with the talented folks from the Rivet Gang.

Launchpad's New Year's Eve Bash
618 Central Ave SW 764-8887
Duke City Derby & the Launchpad present: Coke Is Better With Bourbon * The Unemploid * dj LL Dick

4310 Central SE • 256-0564
Start the festivities the Irish way with a traditional 5 o’clock Dublin
toast. The celebration kicks off with happy hour from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., then the party keeps on going with the Michael Collins Girls, a midnight countdown and a Champagne toast. No cover. All Irish.

There's a slew of fancypants NYE dinner options in town, but these two seem the most interesting to me (And both are still taking reservations):

3009 Central NE • 254-9462

$55 pp includes options such as duck confit eggrolls, pear and pancetta salad, salmon, opera cake, and more...

Sunshine Cafe
1134 Mountain Rd NW 242-1499
$35 pp includes options such as dates stuffed with mascarpone, littleneck clams, butternut squash ravioli, pork tenderloin, pomegranate creme brulee, and more...

Leisure Bowl
7400 Lomas NE • 268-4371
Take your family of four (or eight or more) to Leisure Bowl anytime on New Year's Eve day for a super bowling special. Four people can get three games, shoe rentals, a pizza and sodas for $40--or $10 per person. Call now to reserve your lane, or just show up and beg for a lane.

Holiday Bowl 7575 Lomas NE • 268-3308Midnight is overrated, so Holiday Bowl is serving up a Happy Noon Year’s celebration for those who want to party and have their beauty sleep, too. Check-in is at 11:15 a.m. for the buffet. Coffee, tea, cake, punch and Champagne will be served at the noon toast. Special lane prices will be available and kids are welcome. Call for details and reservations. [from the Alibi]

Don't look too hard for me at the Albuquerque Press Club as I will not be there, instead everyone will be in the very capable hands of Rip and Heather for their New Years Eve beverage supply.

One more thing.

I haven't been there yet, but VERB collective (next to that hookah lounge on Constitution near Carlisle) is doing something for New Year's too. Here's what they sent me:

Happy Holidays! We would like to invite you to ring in the New Year with us at VERB Collective. The festivities will include a DJ, live music, dancing and much merriment!

Please feel free to BYOB, music, instruments and whatever may inspire you to celebrate with us. We will also gladly accept monetary donations, art supplies, cleaning supplies, ext… to help VERB flourish in the New Year. We look forward to seeing you there!!

I'm going sip sparkling wine as I watch my friends burn their Christmas tree.
