A "master-planned" faux-dobe plaza for the "locals." How very Santa Fe.

Eclipse? Why did someone tell me last week they filed for bankruptcy? Maybe they were thinking of MAXJet, but I can't find any evidence that Eclipse is showing belly.

Eclipse isn't bankrupt but they've had a lot of serious setbacks. I know they had a pretty large layoff about 2 months ago.

Town-homes *starting* in the $300,000 range? Looks like the locals will still all be from California.

i was chatting with an architect up in santa fe. the railrunner is potentially much much more than a commuter train...

Oy, the alien novelty act. I liken it to Mississippi taking on a trailer park theme, with a float that includes the General Lee on blocks, with Grandma waiving to the crowd holding a can of Schlitz... would probably get a chuckle from the rest of us but I wouldn't be booking a flight there anytime soon.

Guess we'll have to see if it brings in waves of Shirley MacLaines... somebody has to rent the $300,000 town-homes.

Don't tell the Albq. Journal that there might be any positive effects from the Railrunner. It will spoil their Railrunner hatefest.

I do love the "plaza for the locals." Is that because the locals aren't quite groovy enough for the original plaza? As Fitzerman said, $300,000 for a townhouse isn't exactly a price a local, earning local wages, can appreciate. But there will be "affordable" homes, so maybe a couple of locals can stink up the place nonetheless...
