The CO2-to-fuel project is such a pitiful joke.

First of all, by creating new combustible fuel, you're simply adding to the pollution problem. As soon as the fuel is used, you're releasing particulates and at least some greenhouse gases (even if it's just water vapor). NOT good for the environment.

Additionally, it should be noted that any system is inherently inefficient. In other words, it would take more solar energy to generate the fuel than the energy you'd get from the fuel. You'd be better off actually using the solar power directly for what you need.

Yeah, I think it's mighty hilarious that Lieutenant whatsisname thinks that people are "getting the message" on the cell phone ban. Oh really? Then he must not drive (or ride) the same streets I do--I would say that easily 4 out of 5 drivers is yapping on the phone. Not hands free. But then, I seem to remember that when the ban was enacted, the cops said they weren't going to be bothering to enforce the thing--they would only give citations to those who might be pulled over on some other violation or who were involved in an accident.

People will only notice a law if it is enforced. Just look at the outrage at the damn red light cameras...

I was going to respond to EFP with "1.21 Gigawatts!" but I guess I'll go have to find a relevant meme from Fritz Lang... Erotic dance, anyone?
