Even though I have written news stories over the past few years that are sometimes critical of things happening at PNM or the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Water Authority, I'd just like to say that I am crazy for their service people.
You know who I mean? Those people (I've always encountered men, but there might be some women, too, so I'll just say "people") who show up to your house to fix the gas meter or check your wall unit or take care of your frozen pipes? They rock.
Twice in the past month I've had to call the water authority because our water wasn't running -- both times it turned out that our water meter had frozen (thank you goddess-of-the-pipes for watching over our home and keeping us from having a crazy outrageous plumbing bill...)
Both service guys who came out were totally great. It's cold as heck out there, and they're fiddling with frozen things and wet things and trying to make my water work again. Both service guys were also super nice and funny.
My experience is the same with PNM's service people -- they're out there, working long hours and performing sometimes dangerous work. And yet every time I've had to have a PNM person come over here, they have always been super nice and helpful and basically awesome.
And why, you ask, am I blogging about this?
I tried to call the water authority to leave a "compliment" message about the service people who have come, but I ended up getting disconnected. There were too many calls about frozen pipes, I think.
