Remember how excited you all were
about the National Poetry Slam 2005
? Remember how proud we were that our team won?
Remember back even farther than that -- remember the folks who started it all -- over 10 years ago at Jack's Lounge, or Best Price Books and Coffee, or drive-by poetry? Remember the greats -- Danny Solis, Kenn Rodriguez, Matthew John Connelly, Lisa Gill, Mitch Rayes, and countless others?
If your memory is fuzzy, or crystal clear, or you have no idea what I'm talking about, you need to do two things:
1. Come to the Harwood Art Center this Sunday at 11:30 am
2. Peruse a new book out from UNM Press -- "A Bigger Boat: The Unlikely Success of the Albuquerque Slam Scene

And now it's time to celebrate.
Hope to see you there!
