Jazz originals and standards sung by Melody Romancito (that's me!)

Thought I'd share some of my original music along with some jazz standards.

I actually recorded these a while ago at Dead Horse studio in Taos. At the time I was playing with an excellent guitarist, David Hale, who has since moved on.

I'd love to find someone to play with again -- not just an accompanist, but someone who really digs the music and knows a little about it. Hey. I can produce charts, but you have to want to play the tune.

Which songs are originals?

"Famous Last Words" was written by me along with David Hale, and is dedicated to the memory of Sept. 11
"Audubon Park" is an original that kind of reminds me of Leon Redbone, and is dedicated to the City of New Orleans.
"The Cold Woodstove Blues," dedicated to all the single people of Taos.
"Listen to Me" is another Romancito & Hale composition, kind of like Sade.
"More Time" is a tune I wrote in an effort to avoid covering "Fever," ever.

Where'd these covers come from?

You all know "Basin Street" and "Black Coffee." "Devil Love" came to me via a Rosie Flores album. "Too Stubborn" is a Toy Caldwell song, from a Marshall Tucker album from my dim and distant youth. "Nobody's Fool" has been around the block, and for the life of me, I can't find out who wrote it. I picked it up off of a Saffire (those Uppity Blues Women) album.
