Sheesh, it's so good to be home...Green chile, good friends, familiar faces and the city I love more than any other. Oh, Albuquerque, I won't drone on and on about how I always have to leave you, but know that I miss you more than you could ever imagine.
It's Day Nine of my visit to New Mexico and because I'm one lucky fool (I'm cramming a bunch of reporting trips into this visit), my "work" here has included climbing Mt. Taylor, visiting with the Zuni, backpacking in the Gila, meeting some kickass folks from Las Cruces while eating lunch in Hillsboro, hanging out with good friends, visiting with a former editor of mine (MJ Fayhee, Mountain Gazette, down in Silver City) and in general, chatting with anyone and everyone and just being grateful to be here.
I've got two days left...And yes, I'll cry a lot when I leave on Wednesday. But that's the way things go, eh? Life, it doesn't always turn out the way you expect.
But I have a plea for DCFers...Please come to this book reading Ruth Friesen and I are holding at Bookworks on Tuesday night. Here's the DCF link about it:

At any rate, it's tomorrow, May 12 at 7:30 pm at Bookworks on Rio Grande in Albuquerque.
Going Green is edited by Laura Pritchett; proceeds from sales will benefit the Rocky Mountain Land Library.
