Comment by Izquierdo on November 25, 2012 at 8:02am I had not realized the amount of building art in Albuquerque until I discovered your photo series, Dee. It's a great service to readers. I suppose we don't notice it when we're walking past it because of distractions, or we're on the wrong side of the street to catch the big picture. Beyond the waves the contrast in the architect and the time spans and cultures they represent are compelling and part of what makes the city a favorite among a certain eclectic portion of the population.
Comment by Dee Cohen on November 25, 2012 at 8:19am Thank you. I too was stuck by the contrasting architecture- those sweet low building on the left -possibly still apartments in the middle of all this 60s style stuff...Typical ABQ! D
Comment by Barelas Babe on November 27, 2012 at 6:13am Great shot! I know very little about design fashions, but I do know that the parking garage, while it may be 1960s style, is nowhere near that old! It went up sometime after I had moved to Barelas... Maybe late 1990s? Anyone know? I think the design won an award...
Comment by Dee Cohen on November 27, 2012 at 9:46am I don't know when it was built but I think it is the parking structure for an IRS building?
