High school students install murals at the Albuquerque Convention Center. on 2nd Street downtown.
I pass this mural every day and never tire of it. I think it's astoundingly beautiful and I appreciate that they have continued to add to it.
Comment by Dee Cohen on August 11, 2012 at 9:14am Yes, it's very nice and very nice that the kids are part of the process. I'm still getting used to things in ABQ (even after being here over 2 years). In CA, if I had asked to photograph students, they would have gotten offended or told me it was illegal or needed everyone to sign waivers. In ABQ, they just shrug and say 'Sure. OK.' That's the best part. D
Comment by The Harwood Art Center on August 15, 2012 at 12:11pm Dee, thanks for taking and posting the pic of the Art Summer Institute apprentices! We manage this program each summer and are holding the dedication soon, Friday August 24th @ 5:30 pm. Come by to meet all the great folks involved (City of Albuquerque Public Art, Youth Conservation Corps, the students, lead artists, and myriad other community members)!
