What's going on, Albuquerque?

My former Albuquerque Journal colleague Denise Tessier and I are trying to unravel some of the reasons many readers are so unhappy with the city's only daily paper in a new media criticism blog called abqjournalwatch.com. Comment by Tracy Dingmann on July 30, 2009 at 4:12pm: Yes, it's not about who had the better paper...it's about who had the rights to the more lucrative morning publication. Afternoon papers everywhere, no matter how good, have consistently been first to go under because of complicated market trends and changing consumer habits across the board.
For more info about specific complaints against the Journal, I recommend you read the first two establishing posts...we both tried to lay out the ongoing complaints we've observed ourselves and heard often from others! Thanks!
