I just had to post this picture of the airport when I dropped my husband off so he could fly to Seattle to work. This is a stranger..don't know who it is, but they were the only car behind us when we stopped to unload. There were only 3 cars in front of us.

In Seattle, where my husband will eventually get off the plane, there will probably be about 100 cars out front in the 4 or 5 lanes the pass the front of the airport, and in Detroit where he flies frequently, way more than 100 cars. It's so wonderful to go to the Albuquerque airport if you have a traveling spouse. Easy. I love you airport!

I know what you mean !
I travel more than I would like too sometimes.. and one of the things I've noticed is that I will get off a plane in some cities and something about the airport just instills in me this deep burning desire to get to baggage claim, or the next gate... as soon as possible.. so I join the flock of sheeple jostling one another to my own point B.
But I get to Albquerque, and most of the time I have a much more serene feeling, I look at peoples faces, return smiles as they look at me and sometimes (gasp!) complete strangers say hi. Sure.. part of it is because I'm on the last leg home.. but I've lived elsewhere and not felt this way.. there is something pleasant and welcoming about this place.
