Albuquerque (almost) Tops Best City List

Albuquerque has been recognized by Kiplinger in its Best Cities 2009 edition.

We're No. 2, right after Huntsville, Alabama.

Cool!

Considering I'm front Huntsville, and now live in Albuquerque--that's pretty cool.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing this Alexis.
Something seems wrong with their site. I tried to post the following but not sure if it was accepted:

It's nice to see an educated article from someone that appreciates what ABQ has to offer. But shhhhhh, don't tell so many people. ;-) As an architect in Albuquerque, it is fun to work with the traditional architectural styles and mix in ABQ's funky side too.

Hey, that's awesome (I go to Huntsville every year for work and love it there too)!

I was really excited when I first heard this yesterday. Then I saw which city came in third; Washington DC. That made me wonder how valid their selection process was.

Mark,

A friend of mine from Philly has commented often on the unique and different architecture we have here in the quirky burque. I think we've got a great combination of styles and designs - particularly given that we're such a small city. Hoorah for the creative class!

Yay for Albuquerque! Have to agree with Mark's attempted comment....don't tell so many people...don't want ABQ to turn into another PHX ;o)
