ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—A student-run marketing agency at the University of New Mexico has developed a marketing campaign to introduce zaahahSM to their campus and community. The campaign is designed to increase awareness and generate excitement for zaahah, and position zaahah as a must have tool for university students, faculty and other online users.
The highlight of the campaign will be an on-campus event where students, faculty, and staff will be able to learn how this new social search platform can be used to connect users around their common interests. Members of the agency will be available at the event to answer questions about zaahah, demonstrate its many features, and assist visitors with signing up for an account.
The “Search Meets Social Event” will be held at the Student Union Building atrium on Wednesday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be free and is open to all members of the campus community.
In addition to music and giveaways, attendees will be treated to a very special surprise performance during the noon hour that will bring together the campus community. Everyone who creates a zaahah account at the event is eligible to participate in the $100 gift certificate giveaway to the UNM Bookstore.
The campaign is the culmination of a semester-long program University of New Mexico students have been participating in. The project, known as the startUP productions Marketing Challenge, is designed to give students a unique, real world business, and valuable social media marketing experience by creating a marketing campaign for a startup company.
“Participating in this program has been the most rewarding experience of my college career,” said student Monique Montoya. “I never imagined that I would have the opportunity to play a role in introducing a cutting-edge product to market.”
Each of the 12 schools across the country participating in the startUP productions Marketing Challenge are competing against one another for the opportunity to present their ideas to startUP productions executives at the term’s conclusion.
