Final Day Mass Ascensions Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta 10/10/10

Our neighborhood is in the direct North-South flight path for Hot Air Balloons...This one came down near our home...All ended safe and sound in this show on the streets of Albuquerque's South Broadway Neighborhood.

Nice! My favorite part of balloon fiesta is random landings all over the city.

How does it go again ... a balloon in the street is worth two in the bush?

That has to be the part of Balloon Fiesta I loved the most when I lived in Albuquerque. I can remember a wind-change on an early Sunday morning mass ascension that sent dozens of balloons South-SouthEast into my neighborhood as I walked out of my crappy apartment at San Mateo and Osuna. A couple landed on the golf course and one even landed in the Cliff's parking lot. I'm sure it was unsettling for the pilots but it was amazing to walk out my door and see what looked like a sky completely full of huge balloons silently (-ish...) sailing toward me.
