The Duke City Fix has been a continually publishing community blog since March 2005 -- it kicked off with a small group of bloggers with a shared sense of curiosity about and love of Albuquerque.
Since then, the site has been through a number of iterations, but has always kept that love alive. We started back when Facebook was only available to students of the Ivy League, and before Twitter was even a twinkling in its founder's eye.
In 2007, the site moved to the current Ning platform, which allowed us to take things social. And now, ten years later (why did we wait so long?!) we're moving the conversation over to Facebook and Instagram. The Flickr page is still up and running (don't worry, photogs!) and this site will still be available in archive form for at least a month, but for the great conversations about the Duke City, meet up with us here.
We want to send out a million-plus thanks to everyone who blogged, posted photos, participated in groups (holla, Burque Birders!), posted and attended events, commented, lurked, and made this site the community it has been. You're all stars.
With so much love,
Sophie & Lita
