Comment by Benny the Icepick on March 10, 2011 at 4:03pm It's a great painting, to be sure - captures the essence of the subject!
Although at first glance I thought the fabric hanging down from his side was a holstered gun. Which, you know, would be kind of humorous for those who know about Don's passionate pacificism.
In fact, there's an idea for a new piece: one that illustrates Don in a way that goes against everything he believes in. I'm picturing him tearing ass down the road in a gigantic pickup truck, running over a bunch of roadside peace signs, tossing a half-eaten Big Mac out the window.
Nahhhh. That wouldn't fly. Don, I may not always agree with your views, but I love that you are so unwavering even in the face of adversity. You are one of the only people I know who lives by the philosophy they preach, and for that you have my undying respect.
