Great sky last night and I may have gotten a trifecta of solar images while shooting the eclipse.  First of course is the ring of fire itself, but I may have also gotten an image of a solar flare, a sunspot, and the classic Shark Fin sunset which is so Albuquerque.

This image reminds me of one of those Star War scenes from one of the originals. I don't even mind the reverse reflection.

The rest of the images in larger size can be seen

Fantastic shots David!  Thank you so much for sharing.  Could you talk a little bit about how you did it?  My own pictures weren't half as nice.

Those were shot with a Nikon D100 with a 70-200 f2 lens.  Telephoto extender of 2x makes the whole thing equivalent to about a 600mm telephoto on a full 35mm sensor.  The basic lens is f2 so I added a polarizing filter to try and reduce the light some and shot at f45 and 1/4000 of a second until the sun started to set.
