Flying Star & The Grove Make Huffington Post

NOB HILL--HuffPo is running a story called "10 Best US Cities for Local Food." Albuquerque is listed at #8, but appears at this point to be ranked by readers at #4! Two restaurants are mentioned by name: The Flying Star (my own local hangout) and the Grove. To quote from the article,

Albuquerque makes eating green in the desert seem easy.

Best Green Eats:
Mother Nature Network gives two green thumbs up to the Flying Star Café, which serves fair trade and organic ingredients. The Grove Café uses green produce along with artisan meats and cheeses.

The featured picture with the story looks to be The Southwest Bennie from the Flying Star. What a breakfast treat...and Congratulations to both the Grove and the FS!

WTF is artisan meat?

Artisan meat is where the cow, chicken or pig have been given extensive art lessons. They understand their meat is rare and carries properties once only found in the old world. Not to confused with spa meat, which is where the cow, chicken or pig have been carefully tended all their lives, massaged and cuddled and extensively counseled so they understand that when they are slaughtered, they are giving to the greater good. Both the artisan and spa meats, however, command a VERY high price at your local organic grocery store. Because it costs so much more to give the animals art lessons, counseling and massage, naturally.

Remember to also enjoy Soylent Red and Soylent Yellow made from the finest "high-energy vegetable concentrates."
