Duke City Fix

Life, food, events, and community in Albuquerque, NM

Yep, it's April 15th. I just KNOW that everyone on DCF took advantage of the wonderful technology that is the interweb to file their 2008 tax returns. But for those of you that chose not to or can't e-file there are some resources available in Albuquerque.

E-Filing through the IRS.

The U.S. Postal Service
provides a searchable database of post offices, some with extended hours for tax day. Just type in Albuquerque and click on each post office listed to see which have extended hours of operation.

TAX HELP New Mexico will also host Midnight Madness until midnight today at Smith Brasher Hall on CNM Campus at the southwest corner of University Blvd. and Coal Ave. TAX HELP New Mexico offers free tax help service for those 65 years of age and older and those with a household income of $42,000 or less. Certified tax preparers will be on hand to help tax payers beat the looming tax deadline. TAX HELP New Mexico files state and federal returns electronically.

And, if you're really desperate you can always file an extension.

Disclaimer: I'm not an accountant nor am I a tax expert. Each person's tax situation is different. Make sure to check with thie IRS or an accountant if you have any questions about your income taxes.

Happy Filing!
