From Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel in Old Town - Beautiful!

I spent some time in this beautiful chapel off the beaten path in Old Town. Apparently it is also part of a ghost tour of Old Town...

When I worked in Old Town in college I would visit that shrine often. It was always peaceful and well cared for.
It is also where we took son when he wanted light a candle for his grandmother.
I am glad to see it here this morning.

Thanks for the post. This is one of Albuquerque's best-kept-secrets, even though it's not really that secret. Most of my trips to Old Town include a visit to this shrine--sometimes it's my only reason for going there. It's lovely to have this little niche of peace and tranquility. I don't know who tends the chapel, but I've always wanted to thank them.

Where, off the path, is it? I'd really like to see it.

It's off of Patio Escondido, toward the north end of San Felipe (east side of the street), before it intersects with Mountain - there's also a gated entrance through the wall that connects it to the Albuquerque Museum. Here's a shot of the Virgen de Guadalupe in front of the chapel.

Thanks, kittroid for the locale. I really couldn't remember. I was walking all around there one day and can't be sure where all I went. anyway, I'm glad it was appreciated. Here is another.

I just read my post and realized that my directions were awful :-) So, once you've found Patio Escondido, the chapel is on the eastern wall, on the other side of the patio if you enter from San Felipe. If you enter from the mosaic walkway behind the museum, it's immediately on your left.
