Getting the Batters Edge..its a hit!

Since Duane and I decided to take Tuesdays off from our toil in the rug mines we do stuff in Burque that we never normally have time for. Usually its the ol' run round town doing errands, library, petstore, TJS etc. But this Tuesday we wanted something to take the edge off running a retail store....insert google search for batting cage! Duke City Fix came up for another inquiry a while back and so we strapped on our best local tourist gear and headed south...valley that is.

The Batters Edge is a old school batting cage located off the pleasant drivin' road Sunset, its right off the road under a large cottonwood tree. The u-shape parking lot surrounds the cage of 4 batting stations. Rates start $2 dollars = 25 pitches - but on Mondays and Tuesdays you get 35 pitches, I knew there was a good reason for taking Tuesdays off! We opted for 7 tokens for $10.00 = 245 pitches! Yes my arms and back are sore today...but totally worth it. Duane practiced right and left sided swinging which was a good technique to avoid muscle fatigue.

I hit a home run!

Afterwards we pulled in to the Old Town Pizza Parlor and had another good pitcher of Marble Wheat - Which I hear is 1/2 off on Monday nights!

I went to the Los Altos Batting range (Lomas and Easterday) today. Their best deal is 30 tokens (600 pitches) for $35.

I had a good time even though I am anything but a good baseball or softball player.

Indoor batting cage???? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?? Just like an indoor golf range!!!

I keep threatening to stop by this batting cage in the Valley, every time I ride by there. Thanks for the reminder, I need to get out there :)
