Here's my testament to why I love ABQ.

I live in the student ghetto...a block away from the university. While my house faces south on Gold Street, my garage faces west on University (a busy street). So, every time we park our bikes in the garage, we open and shut the garage.

We rarely forget, but today, either we forgot or it didn't shut completely and bounced back up (something blocking?) and we didn't notice.

So we had some errands to run (rented a ZipCar) drove around town for 2.5 hours with the garage door wide open.

What's in the garage? 4 bikes, 2 bike trailers, 3 public address systems with multiple microphones, a stereo, all our camping, hiking, and backpacking gear and a whole lot of tools.

So, I was a bit shocked when I noticed not ONE thing missing. All the folks driving by who could've parked in the next lot, come over and ransacked us didn't care...all the pedestrians didn't care.

Thank you ABQ. Remember this story when you read/hear news report on how much crime is in our fair city.
