Green Chile Trade: Sharing The Love

A year ago, I express mailed a particularly good batch of freshly roasted green chile to a former New Mexico coworker and friend who is now living in Alaska. She was JONESING for the chile. A few weeks ago, she returned the favor: freshly caught Alaska salmon. Tonight, I combined her special package with my own recent batch of freshly roasted. The result? Sublime.

Do you have stories of sending green chile and having friends return the favor with their own local specialties? Green chile in exchange for ... fresh Boston clam chowder, maybe? Or something even better?

Hey DonB, I'd love to feature this on the front page but the image is too tall. Would you re-size the image to be 130-170 pixels tall? If you want to keep the full image after the post that's great but the top image in featured posts need to be shorter. I'll keep an eye out and feature the post if I see you've decided to re-size. Thanks!

My Dad just got back from visiting family in Maine, he returned with a cooler full of lobsters and a few steamer clams. He took two packages of frozen green chile with for the family. They ended up making green chile lobster rolls which were reported to be quite yummy.

Man, that looks crazy good! And green chile lobsta rolls?? I love me a good lobsta roll. Love me some green chile. Hmm.... Sounds like something you'd find on the daily specials at Ezra's Place.

That looks so good. I was just talking with my dad yesterday and we worked out me bringing him a big bag of green chile next time I visit. Now I need to go bargain for some tasty in return from him.

That chile looks delicious! In a few days I will be driving to NM to get some myself. I hear that it is an excellent crop this year.
