Sometimes we diminish past successes in an attempt to glorify current ones, as with the Journal story this morning (Jan. 29, 2010) which reads: Two victories over Brigham Young? That's like a year with two Christmases, or a week with two weekends" When was the last time the Lobo men/women beat BYU twice in the season's opening series? One has to go as far back as last January. And the Lobo men's margin of victory was bigger, too, a robust 19 point spread a year ago (81-62). The women won by four at Provo,and later, by 15 at home. By comparison the Lobos faired (slightly) poorer this year. Why is it necessary to paint a dismal picture to enhance a bright one? .The Lobos are defending WAC champions, not wimps hoping for a home win.

The ABQJournal frequently tends toward the wet blanket side of life...

No one can take away my own excitement and pride for our town while watching the game...It made up for me the horrible (unspeakable) football season.

The fact that they won this game in particular tells me they can go not only to the MTN WEST conf. but to the DANCE itself...I have a friend in Jacksonville, Fl. my hometown, who tells me he has already bought his tix to an early NCAA round there and he hopes the LOBOS will be playing.
