Sign Near the Post Office I Frequent
however the dude's spelling is totally the unpopular version. This sign is in front of a tavern that went out of business and appears to be a parting shot from the owner.

Groovy. I think the spelling is perfect!

There's an unfilled niche: letter boards that come equipped with Spell Check!

I like the intended sentiment too.

It may have may have been composed by a savvy individual with an interest in the business who was getting heat from the city or state. Or he may have thought it would get some attention, if spelled wrong. Or he may have simply run out of letters. I second his notion (but don't tell anybody).. Or it may have been my hero, Adlai Stevenson himself.

Also, I think it should be part of the Duke City Fix logo, or motto, or masthead, or whatever you call it on a blog.

That's a great Idea and we should do it in Spanish, Dine' and Anglish. I did Spanish on the English-Spanish translator (which does everything literally and is often way off base) and it came out this way:

"Deme su cansado, su pobre,
Sus masa apiñadas que anhelan para respirar libre,
El desecho despreciable de su costa que abunda.
Envíe éstos, la gente sin hogar, tempestad-tirado a mí.
Levanto mi lámpara al lado de la puerta dorada. .... a la Tierra de
Encanto.

Dios Bendice tortillas, las judías pintas y Chile verde.
Ahora y para siempre (my addition)

Actually it's pretty close to being okay, I think. Maybe we can gets some help. The translation maquina obviously thinks "chile" with an "e" is a country...hence the capital C.
