I really wish they would re-build the Franciscan in the same spot (with modern guts, of course.) It looked like it was a beautiful building.

Holy Moly Karen! That is an incredible website! Interestingly, a search for the word "Atrisco" doesn't bring up any matches at all. Strange. . .

I just checked a book I have called Early Albuquerque published back in early 80's - photographic history by Abq museum and ABq journal - could not find one in there (though it's a great collection...).
My grandma and dad used to speak very fondly about the Franciscan. They haven't been around for 30 years, though.

I would even recommend possibly going through the microfilms in the ABQ Journal and Tribune: They're quite interesting
