Disgusting pervert corrections officer sentenced for raping an 8 year old. He isn't happy about serving time where he used to work. Huh. I have an 8 year old, and while I am one of those bleeding heart liberal types this is one area where I get in touch with my inner Sicilian. Count your blessings, dude, if it were my kid...well let's not go there. Enjoy your incarceration. KOAT didn't say how long he would be in the pokey (I hope there is a pun here), so I am guessing it is an embarrassingly light sentence.

Suspected of killing Brittni Carlini, Christopher Midyette was indicted on evidence tampering charges. Too tragic for snark.

I saw the headline on KRQE's site..."Passengers a Bit Down at Sunport"and I thought, hmmm...why so blue??? Lamenting that last flight to Grandma's in Iowa before you need a passport? Missing Garduno's? Starbucks ran out of pumpkin spice lattes? No. There is no need for for a group hug or an intervention at Sunport, this is just another example of peachy writing. The point of the story was that nationally air travel appears to be down about 7%, but here we are not experiencing quite as big of a decline. That's it. Crisis averted.

Weh to go...Republican gubernatorial candidate Allen Weh tells Senators Udall and Bingaman to oppose health care reform, saying “I am vehemently opposed to any bill that will force New Mexicans to carry the weight of a federal government health care program,” Well damn! (slaps forehead) If you put it that way, count me as opposed, too! No one told me that New Mexicans were going to have to shoulder the entire burden of the cost of health care reform! Thanks, Mr. Weh, for clearing that up for us.

So peeps, keep me company. If I take a few minutes to reply it is probably because I am shoving butter up a bird's butt. But I digress...

Comment by cathyray on November 26, 2009 at 8:07am: Another bleeding heart turkey smoking liberal chiming in this morning! I think that anyone who harms a child should be left alone in a room with the kid's mama. Only one of us would walk out & I guarantee it would me be doing the walking.

On another really sad note, I met Mrs Carlini the other day & when I found out who she was I nearly lost what little mind I have. I wanted to reach out & grab her. I feel so much pain for her. I can not imagine anything more horrible than to lose a child, especially to something so incredibly wrong & evil. All I could do is tell her how very very sorry I am that this happened. I'm keeping her in my prayers.

Comment by Cara on November 26, 2009 at 8:13am: For the record, I am roasting my turkey on a bed of carrots and celery (so it doesn't stick to the pan). But I agree, there wouldn't even be teeth left to identify someone who hurt my kid, I would take them apart with tweezers.
Cathyray, I admire how you handled meeting Mrs. Carlini. As painful as that was for you, and I know it had to be, it is amazing when we are given the opportunity to meet someone in crisis and empathize. I believe it makes us stronger and wiser.

Comment by Oliver on November 26, 2009 at 8:44am: If I had to bet, I'd say that the DA is still working on the homicide charrge, and the evidence tampering indictment is a way to keep him in jail while the DA keeps developing the case. Notice that he didn't make bail.

I saw the new Allen Weh headquarters yesterday, and since I'd never heard of him, wondered where he was on the political spectrum. Now I know.
